11/16/09 - First Flu Assesment Centre Opens in Barrie In response to the increasing number of people in the community with influenza-like illness, and in an effort to divert non-urgent cases away from overwhelmed hospital emergency rooms, Simcoe County's first Flu Assessment Centre will open in Barrie on Monday, November 16th. 11/16/09 - Allandale Train Station Restoration Underway There is movement at the Allandale Train Station in preparation for the trains once again returning to Allandale. The restoration of the Allandale Station is well underway, however the majority of work involved with Stage 1 is primarily internal. While the outside physical appearance has not changed much yet, work is steadily moving forward inside preparing it for its reconnection to the community. (Click here to read more about this project)
11/11/09 - Barrie Celebrates With WinterLights With Halloween behind us, it must mean that WinterLights is upon us! Just weeks after collecting top honours at this year’s national Communities in Bloom competition, the City of Barrie is pleased to be welcoming back the second annual Winterlights competition. 10/30/09 - H1N1 Vaccine Clinics Begin Tuesday, November 2nd
Public clinics for the H1N1 vaccine are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, November 2nd in the City of Barrie at the Barrie by the Bay located at 80 Bradford Street, Unit 100, Entrance #1. Dates and times of clinics are available on the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit website. The public is urged to check the website often as changes to the schedule may occur.
